Thoughts on Shooting Instruction...
The first college degree I obtained is in education. As a classically trained orchestral musician, I took the path that virtually all such musicians do…I learned from those who were trained to teach their skills through grade school, college, graduate school & post graduate studies. It was a “no brainer” that to achieve excellence as a musician & conductor, the logical route to success was to find the best instructors available & soak up every bit of knowledge that could be gleaned from them. So, what does this have to do with shooting a shotgun?
As one who knows the benefits of good instruction, I chose that same route when deciding to pursue Sporting Clays. It was obvious to me that the fastest way to improve my technique & skill was to find the best instructor(s) available. Along the way, I learned that getting professional instruction was also the least expensive route. Practicing the same bad habits over & over is not only harmful but expensive as well.
I’ve spent lots of time with some great shooting instructors & learned valuable concepts from every one of them. I have taken the best ideas & methods from each & molded them into my own way of getting the point across. I truly enjoy being able to adapt to the student & the situation then provide solutions that work for them.
When you decide to take your shooting to the next level, seek out a qualified & experienced instructor. You’ll be glad you did!
